"Good night for some practice, right?"
"Good enough."

― Rose and The Freelancer

''The Vault'' by Juicy Music (Plays when alarms are raised)

The Killhouse is an extra mission that was released on August 14th, 2018, with the initial goal of testing indev mechanics for Entry Point. The Killhouse replaced the removed PvE gamemode and the stealth mode was added later on September 4th, 2018. It is the second mission to be released and the sixteenth and final mission chronologically. The map is also used in The Gala.

The mission is based off of real life small arms shooting ranges, named "kill houses", which are used to train military or police personnel.

Overview[]

"Hey, I've got a simple training mission for you in one of our killhouses today. Enter the facility, get past the guards, breach the vault, and secure the loot using any method you want. Let's try not mess this up..."
― Mission briefing from Rose

The Killhouse is Halcyon's premier training facility. Operatives can practice stealth and loud approaches to prepare them for future missions. The objective is to infiltrate, find and open the vault and exfiltrate with the loot.

The map is located in a huge warehouse and takes place at night. The walkable area is confined to a maze like structure with many different sized rooms separated by concrete walls, metal doors and walled off door frames. There are also doors surrounding the map, but these cannot be interacted with and are only for display. The whole map is split up into 3 sections, each of them blocked off by metal doors. Every area except for the spawn is a Hostile Zone.

The rooms have tables, racks, crates and concrete barriers. First Aid Kits can be found all over the map. The vault spawns in one of the bigger rooms and only has 3 different spawn locations. There are also 3 different circuit boxes which spawn randomly around the map, as well as a laptop, which doesn't spawn on Legend. Cameras are found in most sections, their amount depending on the difficulty. On Elite and Legend, the amount of potential camera spawns increases significantly. On all difficulties except Legend, there is a camera operator who can be found in one of 3 rooms blocked off by keycard doors.

The layout of cameras, blocked off sections, camera operators, player spawns and the vault is randomized each time the mission is played.

NPCs[]

Stealth[]

The only NPCs found in this mission are security guards. They roam each of the sections, looking out for any suspicious activity. Guards in this mission also have a notably reduced range where they can be held up. Guards in this mission are passive guards, which means they will only pull out their gun when alerted by seeing a player (not including exhausting the trespass countdown), or when the alarm is raised. Additionally, if a guard is alerted by fully detecting a player while they are checking in, they will draw their gun much faster than if they were not checking in. One of the guards outside of the first section will give you the vault code after interrogation. They can be identified by the red vault keycard they drop when you hold them up. The security guard disguise gives you access to every room.

A security guard can be interrogated to gain intel and extra objectives. The Control Room intel will show you the location of the camera operator. The circuit box intel will tell you about the option to disable the sensors using the circuit box. The Access Point intel will show you the location of the laptop.

Loud[]

During loud, the assaulting enemies are SWAT. They will spawn outside of the map and breach the outside doors to enter.

Mission Progression[]

The main objective of the mission is to retrieve the loot bag found inside the vault. Note that the loud plan can also be completed without breaking stealth.

Stealth[]

"Drill is running"
"Good, now make sure nobody hears it"

― The Freelancer and Rose

For stealth you can acquire the vault keycard and code, both of which can be acquired from a guard outside of the first section. After that you can open the vault and escape with the loot. An alternate method is to use the Diamond Drill. To keep things quiet, either when entering the vault on Legend or drilling the vault in any difficulty, you have to also disable the vault sensors by either interacting with them as an Engineer, hacking the laptop (that cannot spawn on Legend) found around the map as a Hacker, or disabling a circuit box with a wire that matches the color of the one on the vault. If you are using the diamond drill, you must also take out all of the guards first (as well as any cameras that are still active and can see the drill on Legend or if the operator is still active) to avoid sounding the alarm.

Loud[]

"Heeey... You know you just tripped the alarm, right?
"I'm aware"

― The Freelancer and Rose

For loud you have to set up a Diamond Drill at the vault. On higher difficulties, regular keycards will no longer work, and attempting to use one will play a sound as the card is denied and the door remains locked (the keycard scrambler still works though). After opening the vault you can escape with the loot. You can also hold up one of the guards as they're escaping and, if you're lucky enough to get the right guard, get the keycard and code, and put in the code really quickly.

Objectives[]

The Direct Approach (Loud and Stealth)

  • Grab the drill
  • Start drilling the vault
  • (Optional) Disable the vault sensors
  • Protect the drill

    • 15:00 (Nightmare assault)
  • Escape with the loot

  • Use the red keycard to open the vault
  • Escape with the loot

Intel: Control Room (Optional)

  • Removing the operator will neutralize the cameras

Intel: Circuit Boxes (Optional)

  • Disabling the right circuit box will neutralize the vault sensors

Intel: Access Point (Optional)

"This...isn't right. It's not what should have happened"
― Rose

The Nightmare Assault mode was added on December 10th, 2018 and is a special mode accessed in The Killhouse to obtain The Killhouse's code. To initiate it you have to begin The Killhouse loud on Elite or Legend difficulty, however Elite is recommended. 10 seconds after loud has started, the circuit box with the same wire color as the vault wire will turn dark, which you will have to rewire. After that a second random circuit box's wire will turn dark which you will have to rewire too. After rewiring the third, every wire will turn white if done correctly. Placing the diamond drill at the vault once every player is in the vault room will begin the Nightmare Assault.

During the assault all lights will go out and the whole map will turn dark. The music will change to eerie ticking sounds and ambiance which get louder and louder as the mission progresses. The diamond drill has to drill for 15 minutes, and you cannot leave the vault room. Once the drill is finished, you have to escape with the loot bag where you will find the code "Provenance" written all across the walls at spawn. Rose will have unique dialogue as the Nightmare Assault starts and ends.
