"The Compact Bullpup Rifle was created by the Tricorne Co. in 1990. The CBR-C is a variant of the CBR sold exclusively in Canada; It's shortened barrel allows it to comply with Canada's rifle laws. The quick fire rate and high accuracy make it a favorite for operatives in mid to long distance firefights. The 7.8mm rounds slice armor, but the fire rate and small magazine means frequent reloads."
― Ingame Description

Summary[]

The CBR-C is one of the many weapons used by operatives in Entry Point. It costs $13,500 to purchase and $250 to deploy on a mission.

The CBR-C is a solid choice for ranged combat, and it maintains an acceptable length thanks to the bullpup design and shortened barrel. Its rounds are more than capable of going through most walls and dealing with targets efficiently.

The CBR-C is often used by enemies with a laser and default mini sight. However, those found in the armory in The SCRS will not have a laser.

Overview[]

With high damage, solid accuracy, and rifle-grade penetration, enemies won't be safe behind wood or drywall. The CBR-C is a powerful rifle geared toward accurate shots to the head at long ranges. It has good handling, allowing it to land shots accurately to a decent range even when fired at full speed.

The most notable drawback of the CBR-C is its ammunition. With a magazine size of only 10 + 1 rounds and a base reserve of 60, reloads will be frequent and pickups will be required during long missions. Preserving ammunition requires a high degree of precision. Additionally, the weapon’s performance is highly dependent on the user’s investment into damage as well as the type of enemy it is used against, performing worse if it is unable to kill standard enemies in a single headshot.

Even with these drawbacks in mind, the CBR-C is still a highly effective weapon for dealing with distant targets, and it is quite useful against enemy operatives in close-range assaults too. Paired with a good backup weapon, you'll find your survivability unquestioned during most loud missions.

Pros[]

  • High damage per shot.
  • Long range.
  • Low spread.
  • High barrier penetration.
  • Relatively easy to refill.

Cons[]

  • Very difficult to conceal.
  • Low magazine capacity.
  • Low base reserve ammo.

Damage Breakpoints[]

Below are various tables showing how much extra damage is needed to kill various standard units in a certain number of shots on Legend difficulty without damage falloff. Values shown are for when unsuppressed/suppressed.

2 head shots[]

Enemy Type SWAT ETF/TRU Steel Cove/Halcyon Operative
Extra Damage 0% 15% / 10% 30% / 25%

1 head shot followed by 1 body shot[]

Enemy Type SWAT ETF/TRU* Steel Cove/Halcyon Operative
Extra Damage 55% / 45% 85% / 75% 90% / 80%

* Against ETF and TRU units, a body shot followed by a head shot will also kill with the listed amount of damage.

1 head shot[]

Enemy Type SWAT ETF/TRU Steel Cove/Halcyon Operative
Extra Damage 100% / 90% 130% / 120% N/A

Modifications[]

The CBR-C is the ideal weapon for long-range marksmanship, though it can hold its own up close with the right attachments as well.

Sight[]

  • Mini Sight - Miniature 1.3x sight with a small red dot, granting a clear view of the target. Equipped on the CBR-C by default.
  • Delta Sight (+1) - Miniature 1.5x sight with a thick delta dot, granting a clear view of the target.
  • Red Dot (+2) - Large 2.2x magnification optic with with a solid red dot, providing a very clear sighting picture.
  • TG3X (+2) - 3.3x magnification optic with a clear scope reticle, effective at farther distances.
  • T4XS (+2) - 4.6x magnification optic with a tactical reticle, improving long range precision at the cost of close range aiming.
  • LS6X (+2) - 6.6x magnification scope with a solid crosshair, ideal for extreme distances but almost unusable in close quarters.

Barrel[]

  • Flash Hider (+2) - Eliminates the muzzle flash from the weapon. This lowers the threat of the weapon, but also causes spread to reset slower.
  • Muzzle Brake (+1) - A compensator that reduces recoil, at the cost of spread increasing faster and increased maximum spread.
  • Suppressor (+2) - A large suppressor that eliminates the sound and muzzle flash of the weapon. This lowers the threat of the weapon more than the Flash Hider and slightly improves damage and recoil, but increases maximum hipfire spread. Suppressed gunshots won't raise the alarm but can still cause people to look in your direction if they're too close.

Tactical[]

  • Flashlight - A bright light that can be turned on to illuminate dark areas.
  • Laser - A red laser that can be turned on to make shooting from the hip more precise, decreasing hipfire spread.
  • Canted Sights - Backup iron sights for the weapon, allowing for an alternate aiming option that works well when paired with scopes.

Grip[]

  • Folding Grip - A compact grip that can be easily concealed with the gun. It reduces minimum spread while moving.
  • Ergo Grip (+2) - A large vertical grip which greatly adds to precision while on the move. It reduces minimum spread while moving more than the Folding Grip.
  • Angled Grip (+1) - A naturally designed grip that reduces recoil.
  • Stubby Grip (+1) - A shortened vertical foregrip which grants better control over the weapon, reducing maximum spread and how fast spread increases.
  • Additionally, all grips reduce camera recoil, but the Ergo Grip reduces it more than the other grips.

Trivia[]

  • The CBR-C is based on the Kel-Tec RFB-C. The gun used to be named RFB-C in earlier versions of the game, but it was changed later on.
    • In spite of its name being changed, the description still references the RFB-C's real life export policies to Canada.
  • Though chambered in the fictional 7.8mm cartridge in-game, no such rifle calibers exist in real life. The closest one could get to the fictitious ammunition in-game is with the 7mm-08 Remington cartridge, which is likely what the in-game cartridge hints at.
    • Regardless, the real life Kel-Tec RFB exclusively chambers 7.62x51mm NATO and feeds from metric FN FAL magazines.
  • The CBR-C is most notorious for a longtime glitch that can randomly occur, which messes up the positioning of the weapon while aiming down sights, making it significantly more difficult to aim with them.
  • Wren's official render made by Bunpunk is seen visibly holding the CBR-C with the Red Dot sight and Suppressor.
  • The CBR-C uses the same sound as the S97 when unsuppressed.
  • A gun similar to the CBR-C is found in another one of Cishshato's other games, Deception.
