"The "Sawblade" is a heavily modified LMG variant that comes directly from the Armera. Armera Custom weapons are infamous in the world of operatives, and the few with connections to get them gladly pay the high prices. The Sawblade in particular boast[sic] a hundred round magazine, high stopping power, and no tolerance for that "Stealth" nonsense. When you buy a gun like this, you use it."

Summary[]

The Sawblade is one of the many weapons used by operatives in Entry Point. It costs $52,000 to purchase and $1,000 to deploy on a mission.

Sometimes, the best way to hold down a defensive point is to have more bullets in the magazine than the enemy, and the Sawblade fills this role. With a hundred-round magazine, operatives can throw reloading out the window in favor of an endless bullet rain.

The Sawblade shares the same ammunition as the F57, and it is the weapon of choice for Shredders and Halcyon Juggernauts.

Overview[]

The Sawblade is most notable for its large magazine size. It is best for holding positions and spraying continually, which can help against boss enemies. While the F57 has more burst DPS, it has to reload more often, allowing the Sawblade to outperform it in sustained DPS.

With a large magazine capacity comes a large amount of drawbacks. One notable issue is its cost. The purchase price is incredibly high, and regularly using it on missions will make profit unlikely. Those rich enough to purchase the weapon will require certain perks to avoid being hindered by the slow walkspeed and very long reloading time once the magazine runs dry.

Once the weaknesses of the Sawblade are addressed with the ideal perk setup, it can become a useful asset on certain missions. When you need a large amount of bullets, the Sawblade fits this role, but it's impractical outside of this reason.

Pros[]

  • Very high magazine and reserve ammo capacity.
  • Easy to refill.
  • Spread and recoil can be greatly lowered while prone due to the bipod.

Cons[]

  • Very high deployment cost.
  • Moderate spread and recoil without bipod.
  • Bipod helps little or not at all with horizontal recoil.
  • Moderate range.
  • Slows down operatives greatly without Heavy Weapons Mastery.
  • Impossible to conceal.

Damage Breakpoints[]

Below are various tables showing how much extra damage is needed to kill various standard units in a certain number of shots on Legend difficulty without damage falloff.

2 head shots[]

Enemy Type SWAT ETF/TRU Steel Cove/Halcyon Operative
Extra Damage 25% 40% 60%

1 head shot followed by 1 body shot[]

Enemy Type SWAT ETF/TRU* Steel Cove/Halcyon Operative
Extra Damage 80% 125% 130%

* Against ETF and TRU units, a body shot followed by a head shot will also kill with the listed amount of damage.

Attachments[]

The Sawblade really isn't in need of attachments, but better accuracy and better ways to improve the weapon's spread over range will make unloading on enemies more satisfying. Just be wary of the iron sights blocking your gun's view. By default, the Sawblade is equipped with a bipod, which significantly reduces spread and recoil while prone.

Sight[]

  • Iron Sights - A circular rear and front sight used by the Sawblade. May or may not make hitting targets easier.
  • Mini Sight (+1) - Miniature 1.3x sight with a small red dot, granting a clear view of the target.
  • Delta Sight (+1) - Miniature 1.5x sight with a thick delta dot, granting a clear view of the target.
  • Red Dot (+2) - Large 2.2x magnification optic with with a solid red dot, providing a very clear sighting picture.

Grip[]

  • Folding Grip - A compact grip that can be easily concealed with the gun. It reduces minimum spread while moving.
  • Ergo Grip (+2) - A large vertical grip which greatly adds to precision while on the move. It reduces minimum spread while moving more than the Folding Grip.
  • Angled Grip (+1) - A naturally designed grip that reduces first-shot recoil.
  • Stubby Grip (+1) - A shortened vertical foregrip which grants better control over the weapon, reducing maximum spread and how fast spread increases.
  • Additionally, all grips reduce camera recoil, but the Ergo Grip reduces it more than the other grips.

Trivia[]

  • The Sawblade is likely inspired by the H&K MG4, with the stock of a M249 SAW. However, the Sawblade exclusively fed by Beta C-Mags vertically, which is not a feature of either gun; the M249, while able to feed from STANAG magazines, does so diagonally and cannot feed from C-Mags, while the MG4 is completely incapable of accepting magazines.
  • The Sawblade uses the same sound as the F57 and the CH-A when unsuppressed.
  • The Sawblade has the exact same penetration factor and spread statistics as the Thumper. This is likely due to these stats being copied from the Sawblade onto the Thumper, since they would have little or no importance on it.
